this chronic pain & illness journal/tracker page is for finding, and then working on, the emotional pain one feels that is caused by physical, chronic pain experienced, and visa versa: the link between our physical pain & our emotional pain is well established and well documented.
most folks with chronic pain & illness have varying degrees of emotional pain and trauma which is so deeply rooted in their psyche that it is able to lend itself the chronic, physical pain which is experienced. the same goes for the opposite direction; the daily, debilitating physical pain which is felt flows out and into the emotional pain felt.

so we know the link between physical and emotional is present. but it doesn’t mean that’s the end of the story, that’s it’s a fate to suffer. with time, patience, and self reflection, that link can be lessened. both types of pain, physical and emotional, don’t need to be at the mercy of each other and dependent on one another.

by understanding both types of pain better, the untangling of the two can begin.

🌸some backstory: I have fibromyalgia, an invisible illness that causes pain, tiredness, and changes to my cognition. I have been living in pain and discomfort every day for a very long time. at times it can feel like your life is out of control, like your body has betrayed you. by journaling and tracking my pain daily I was able to take control of things. I now understand what makes my pain worse, what makes it better, what causes my pain to flare, and what I would neglect which would lead to pain.
